Studio Work Process
The wonderful part of collecting imagery in the field is how you can base your work on personal interactions with your models. Having a sketchbook filled with antbird poses or botanical studies informs the brush and enlivens the outcome.
My studio paintings have field imagery incorporated into them. A sketch of a plover on an Australian beach might end up rendered in acrylic on a wood panel, along with shells plucked from the sand it stood on.
